Farewell to Colin
At Colin Howard's final concert with Corsham Choral Society our Chairman, Helen Snowball, paid a warm tribute to Colin and the achievements of his ten years as our conductor:
"Colin, we want to say a big thank you for all that you have done for the choir over the last ten years. In that time there have been so many successes and high points on which we can all look back with great pleasure and satisfaction. You have expanded and developed the range of our repertoire as well as our competence and confidence to perform it. To achieve the highest standard possible for the choir has been your constant goal, and we have many memorable performances to recall with pride - the St John Passion, The Faure Requiem, Messiah and Beethoven's Mass in C, to name just a few. We have gained immense benefit from your wealth of experience and knowledge of choral music and from your skills as a conductor. The fact that you are also a fine pianist, tenor soloist and cellist is an added bonus. In the short time that I have been a member of the choir your passion for the music we have prepared has always shone through and your musicianship has been inspirational.
"We have a great deal to thank you for, Colin, and many good memories to preserve. We all wish you every success in your activities in the future."
